What is HTML and why HTML is important
First you should know who invented HTML- HTML was invented by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.
Before going to know about HTML, you should know the importance of HTML.
HTML is used for web designing, ever you think how web browser display web pages for you.
HTML is a set of markup tags which contains the information that tells the web browser(Web browser read HTML tags and interprete into human readable content) what should be displayed.
Using HTML, you create user interface for web applications and mobile applications. HTML was published as a W3C recommendation.
HTML tags are surrounded by brackets, format of HTML tags look like this :

HTML allow video, image and other files to be embedded which is used to create interactive web pages.
HTML also embed scripts and styles, scripts affect the behavior of HTML web pages and styles (Cascading Style Sheets) define the look and layout of web pages.
HTML file is just a plain text file but text file has .txt extention and HTML file has .html and .htm extention.
