What is .htaccess file ?
.htaccess which stands for hypertext access file is known as directory level configuration file.
.htaccess is mainly used to configure site access issues such as Access Security Control and URL Redirecting.
Uses of .htaccess file- For URL Rewriting
- Authenticate user by their ip address, you can set restriction from htaccess to user by his ip address.
- Control Directory Listing
- Manage error response
- Allow server to manage caching by proxies and web browsers to reduce usage of bandwidth.
- Main advantage with .htaccess is changes made in any file take immediate effect because .htaccess file are read on each request.
When you want to remove public from url then create a .htaccess file in the Laravel root directory.
Add this code in your .htaccess file.

If you are getting 404 not found then you can fix this error using .htaccess file.

I always use this code when i need to redirect mobile device on same url.
Create a function to check if request coming from mobile device then call mobile routes otherwise call website routes.
